I’d genuinely say that the advent of Shooting People and the community it’s created is the single most exciting thing to have happened to the UK’s film industry in the past decade. As formal partners, The Script Factory’s relationship with SP resulted in both Screenwriters Network and Script Pitch list which we were proud to help establish. Beyond that, we use SP ourselves daily: as somewhere we look for ideas; as a way to get information out to a huge user group; and, most importantly, as a place to get a feel for the massive encouraging sense of energy coming from the newest part of the industry. Message: Howdy Shooting People! I'm 31 today, and you are 10. Gorgeous. Congratulations. You deserve the world. Since I joined years ago I've made friends, been to amazing talks, seen amazing films and felt part of something great. For my film festival Filmstock, SP is the first port of call for British submissions, for my films, I crew and cast through here, and as a film educator the first thing I tell every person who wants to be in the industry the first thing they need to do is sign up for SP.
