So Chuffed.

Posted Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Keep meaning to mention that we’ve got our first ever unofficial fan site, for our film Hallo Panda. I know that it only takes about five minutes to set up a page in Facebook so it’s not like they’ve built a pyramid or a henge to honour our creations, but never the less the thought that the bunch of us managed to delight strangers to the point of casual internet use still brings a warm glow.

Bore da Panda

Posted Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

OK, I think that actually means “Good Morning Panda” but the Welsh for “Hallo” seems to be “Hylo” which didn’t really seem to go far enough in making the point that my lovely bear shaped film is going to be shown on S4C, Channel 4′s Welsh sister station. So if you happen to be in Wales on the 17th May and you happen to be unable or unwilling to sleep and find yourself near a television at about 3.50am then

Dripping Into The Wakeful Dreams Of The Nation…

Posted Thursday, April 30th, 2009

It seems that once again our film “Hallo Panda” has been disturbing insomniacs watching channel four late into the night… bless ‘em, they never tell us when they’re going to show it but it’s nice to know that, never the less, we do manage to reach some sort of audience… gradually our scenes of ludicrous panda porn are dripping into the jungian superconsciousness of the nation…

A Great Night For Lee Kern Fans

Posted Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Because our film “Hallo Panda”, which features Lee in a small but pivotal role, is going to be broadcast tomorrow night at twenty to one on Channel Four. We’re in the Radio Times (online) and everything! A little miffed that I found this out because nice Mark who is doing the subtitles has just rung me to get a copy of the script, but I mean, you know, worse things happen at sea. I mean, we’ve not been kidnapped. Even

OK, So Someone Is Reading This…

Posted Sunday, November 26th, 2006

It’s Sunday and it’s raining. Proper rain. The sort of rain I remember from childhood. People always say that when thinking back to their childhood the sun always seems to be shining, I generally remember rain. Long cold days with white skies and a persistent background crackle as the water bounces off the roof, the windows, or the sides of the car. It’s that sort of day now and I’m really having to fight hard not to pull my duvet

Not Happy.

Posted Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

OK, so that was a bit of a weird one. In half an hour it’ll be November. Where am I? Where the fuck am I usually? Kings Cross train station waiting for something to start moving. We’ve just had the first screening of “Hallo Panda” along with all the other Cinema Extreme shorts and whilst I guess I should feel the satisfaction of a job well done, all I really feel is anger. For the past month all Chris and

Bright Colours.

Usual apologises for my slightly longer than polite silence here. The past couple of weeks have been a non-stop race to the finish line with “Hallo Panda” and the past few days have been soft and full of hoovering and shit TV as I struggle to string thoughts together, never mind try and type them out for your pleasure here in fictional space. Sadly I’m far from back in the groove but it’s Tuesday already so I really need to

It is 1:26 am on Wednesday 11th October 2006. Chris and I are sat on a train in a desolate Kings Cross. We are ten minutes from moving and ten days from completing “Hallo Panda”. Ten days from not making a short film. We made our first short film in 1997, nearly ten years ago, and since then not a day has passed when we’ve not been, in some sense, making another. Even when writing feature scripts or shooting music
