Baby Trashes Bar in Las Palmas, or how a short film trailer went viral

Posted Friday, February 18th, 2011

This blog is currently listed as inactive on Google Reader so I thought it was about time I got posting again! This is the trailer for a short film called Las Palmas by filmmaker Johannes Nyholm. The film itself is 14 minutes. It’s so fantastic to see a trailer for a short getting so much viral attention. It was featured on uber-blog Boing Boing and is about to pass 1,000,000 views on YouTube.

Drunk History on Tesla and Edison

Posted Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

This is one of the drunkest Drunk Histories I’ve seen. I love Tesla, so much so that I wrote my Masters dissertation on the guy. So it makes me very happy to see him described by a guy with his head in the the toilet: “I’m talking about Tesla in my puke. Tesla was the electric Jesus. I can’t breath.” Genius! Drunk History vol. 6 w/ John C. Reilly & Crispin Glover from John C Reilly

Love this project wherein Alex Jablonski and cinematographer Michael Totten make and exhibit one short documentary per month, every month for one year. The first episode is about John Wood who writes and records one full-length musical album per month – and he’s been doing this since November 2006! I can’t even write a blog post once a month. Obvious Child – a sweet short film (that happens to feature an abortion)

Posted Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

I really like this short. It’s so refreshing to see a film where an abortion is only as big of a deal as it needs to be and is dealt with head on, unlike in Juno and Knocked Up (I know I’m not the first person to reference these two films but it would be remiss not to since there were both so popular and both so much about NOT getting an abortion). Obvious Child is a little (ok a
