I hadn’t heard of Raghava KK before I watched this TED Talk yesterday but now I’m a huge fan. I love the idea of shaking up your perspective by shaking an iPad. Haptic change! Could be a whole new social movement!
Do algorithms shape our worldview? What are we not seeing on Facebook and Google? As Eli Pariser puts it, “The Internet is showing us what it thinks we want to see but not necessarily what we need to see.” This TED talk from Pariser is definitely worth a watch and a ponder.
Aaron Koblin is an artist who uses data and digital technologies in his work. He leads the Data Arts Team in Google’s Creative Lab and has worked on lots of projects I really love, including The Wilderness Downtown (with Chris Milk), The Johnny Cash Project (also with Chris Milk) and The Sheep Market.
