Shooters Q&A

Films I wish I had made

I wish I'd been there to work on the 3 original Wallace & gromit films.. wish I'd been in the editing room for Monty python and the holy grail, Harvie Krumpet, The science of sleep.. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.. The Truman Show.. Toy story... in fact i wish i could have been able to go back in time and help make and finalise every single disney film, not so much with pixar but the time and brilliant work gone into the classics speak for them selves

I cried watching

not really cried but felt the tears inside, This is england... I cried watching it the 1st and the 2nd and the 3rd time.... and am sure every time i watch it, shane meadows will manage to break me down with its wonderful story line and its beautiful soundtrack... also Top Gun, when goose dies...the huge build up to the ejector seat not working is soon controlled by the slow decent of them falling in the water, once goose's parachute opens Harold Faltermeyer's beautifully written song takes you through mavericks pain of not wanting to let go of goose.. Eternal sunshine.. at the end when they play back the tapes.. its a bit emotional

I left the cinema during

"doug, the 1st movie" only because we were supposed to be watching star wars and we decided to sneak in, but we ended up in the wrong screen, and felt it would have been rude to walk out straight away.. i did want to leave during 2012

Directors I love

don't want to stress the title "director" people, things I love/ aspire to do; I suppose the rawness of my work comes from when I was little because even as a child I preferred the programmes that looked raw and done by hand, like The Clangers, Button Moon, Postman Pat, The Magic Roundabout, The Wombles, Paddington Bear, Bagpuss and Thomas the Tank Engine etc, it was the imagination of these ideas that drew attention to me most, I always wanted to recreate them with my own versions of homemade props and sets so I guess things haven't really changed. other inspiration comes from a far Reeves and Mortimer, The league of Gentlemen, Nick Park and everything he's done at Aardman, David Shrigley, Monty Python, Harry Hill, Michel Gondry, Jackson Pollock,. David Carson, The Beatles and 2 many DJ's, David Attenborough loads more just give me time to think

Actors I admire

Jim Carrey, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman just in Rain Man, Johnny depp, Heath Ledger, Rowan Atkinson, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Spike Milligan, Buster Keaton, Audrey tautou, Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz

Writers I respect

I respect anyone that writes, dont really like the question... I don't respect people that tell writers "its not a job, come on do somethin proper wi ya life.." I know its not a job its something I love doing

My desert island discs

i couldn't reduce it down to 5 so decided to do my own A-Z of favourite songs... A day in the life; The Beatles, Beer; Reel Big Fish, Cutt off; Kasabian, Dancing with myself; Nouvelle Vague, E talking; Soulwax, First down; Fatboy Slim, Getaway; The Music, How does it make you feel; Air, If i had; Eminem, Johnny Quest (Thinks We're Sellouts); Less Than Jake, Kicking Pigeons; [Spunge], Let it be; The Beatles, Morning Glory; Oasis, Night Boat To Cairo; Madness, Overnight; Gonzales, Politik; Coldplay, Quai;Yann Tiersen, Rainbow Country; Bob Marley, Supersonic; Oasis, Time To Pretend; MGMT, Unite; Beastie Boys, Video Killed the Radio Star; The Buggles, Walking on the Sun; Smashmouth, Xpander; Sasha, Ya Mama; Fatboy Slim, Zdarlight; Digitalism
