We've worked alongside some fantastic screening and festival partners and we would love to reciprocate by introducing them below.
This brilliant festival started life as Halloween before evolving into its current incarnation as the LSFF. They return year-after-year with a bigger and more ambitious programme. Each year they award the ‘the Shooting People Funny Shit Award’ for the Best Comedy Short. http://www.shortfilms.org.uk/
Thanks to our friends at the BFI we now run bi-monthly screenings at their Studio on the Southbank in an attempt to give a platform to some of the more delightful and dedicated filmmakers who are using Shooting People to get their work made and seen.
For five chilly but intense days in November, public and industry alike flock to the Sheffield Doc/Fest for screenings of international docs, pitching opportunities and filmmaking masterclasses. Our Creative Director James Mullighan serves on the advisory Board of the Festival. https://sheffdocfest.com/ - the team have produced a useful guide for those attending the Festival for the first time. You can download it here.
DepicT! is the 90 second film competition that forms part of the Encounters Short Film Festival in November. Every year they award the Shooting People Audience Favourite. Watch past shortlisted entries on Shooting People here: http://shootingpeople.org/cards/DepicT
Respect to these Brooklyn based filmmakers who have built a brilliant summer screening programme around short work that must be seen. If you are based in New York, go! And if not, go anyway!
The original and best UK festival for emerging cutting edge work is now a very international affair with tour dates all over the globe (London in September). Congratulations to the OneDot team for passion and consistency.
