A natural, zesty enterprise
Dude(ette)s
Amongst all the civilised mayhem that is Edinburgh at Festival time, there seemed to be yet enough oxygen for the good folk at Canongate to organise the UK’s first Lebowski Fest (next Friday 24 August, Cineworld, Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, www.lebowskifest.com) to celebrate the launch of the new Lebowski almanac ‘I’m A Lebowski, You’re A Lebowski’.
Team Shooters is doing its bit (in only two hours, eek: time for my vocal warm up) by posing a number of Lebowski-related mind ticklers in The Famous Shooting People Pub Quiz (today 18 August, 1800, Delegates Centre, Bread Street, Edinbrugh). I am expecting to see you there.
Shooters redisdent Price of Prate (and UK Filmmaker Bulletin moderator) Lee Kern is in town for the Guardian Edinburgh TV Festival. He writes:
Hey, TV fans - i’ve got a film screening and am going to be part of a special panel at the Guardian Edinburgh TV festival this year. It would be super-great if you could make it down there. It’s gonna be a good one. Here’s the pitch… .
MONKEY TENNIS!
In 2007 my partner and i went undercover with a secret camera to discover the guts and innards of the commissioning process. We managed to get meetings with the Heads of Entertainment at ITV and Channel 4. I proceeded to pitch my shit and ludicrous program ideas to see if i had a shot at the big time. This film shows the results of those meetings…
…the film will be followed by a question and answer panel session with some of the commissioners who were duped into meeting us:
Duncan Gray (ITV)
Andy Auerbach (Channel 4)
Adam Adler (Channel 4)
…and some other folks to make the stage look pretty.
AUGUST 25th
12.30pm
The Fintry, Level 3
EDINBURGH TV FESTIVAL
Tell your friends and invite your chums!
Even of you can’t make it to Edinburgh, stay in touch and we’ll find a way to get the film seen.
Best wishes,
Lee
