The Roundhouse Film Fund supports emerging filmmakers aged 18–25 to create innovative short films under 5 minutes, exploring social or political issues from unique perspectives. Three filmmakers will be awarded a £1,000 production budget, professional mentorship, access to industry-standard equipment, and support for developing a distribution strategy. The program includes public screenings and submissions for international film festivals.

One filmmaker will also have the chance to win the Wiggin Emerging Filmmakers Award, offering £8,000 additional funding and industry mentorship. Applicants must have the skills to independently produce their film, though guidance will be provided by industry mentors.

Look Aside introduces its Short Film Fund to support emerging and established filmmakers. The fund offers two grants: a £10,000 Primary Fund for established filmmakers creating short films in pursuit of feature-length projects, and a £3,000 Debut Filmmaker Fund for first-time filmmakers.

The Primary Fund supports self-contained short films that align with future feature development, offering additional resources like mentorship, PR consultation, festival strategy, and inclusion on Look Aside's feature slate. The Debut Fund provides first-time filmmakers with funding, guidance, and exposure to launch their creative careers.

Open to filmmakers worldwide, productions must take place in the UK.

The BFI NETWORK & BAFTA Mentoring programme, in partnership with BFI Flare, supports UK-based LGBTQIA+ writers, directors, and producers as they work toward their debut feature, TV pilot, or online commission. Applicants should have experience creating short films, theatre works, or radio pieces, with a focus on long-form LGBTQIA+ projects. Six successful applicants will receive mentoring from senior industry professionals, career coaching, and access to events and screenings during the BFI Flare and BFI London Film Festivals.

Participants will also benefit from a day-long lab at BAFTA exploring the LGBTQIA+ creative landscape and gain complimentary three-year access to BAFTA Connect. If you’ve showcased your work at BAFTA-qualifying or international LGBTQIA+ festivals, or received recognition from LGBTQIA+ communities, you’re encouraged to apply.
