On a day much like any other, a young girl's life is changed forever when a mysterious stranger begins to poke her repeatedly with an umbrella. Understandably perturbed, she finds herself unable to escape or dissuade her persistent annoyer, and discovers acceptance for what she can't change, and even gratitude for the man that forces her to face life on her feet. From director Christopher Hood comes his first super-16mm film. 'There's a Man in the Habit of Hitting me on the Head with an Umbrella' is an eccentric tale of a peculiar relationship.

Congratulations to Alex and James too. I thought the acting in Ruby was second to none and the concept of Speechless was extremely well executed.
Finally, I wasn't going to upload this but now the film has won I thought it may be of interest to some people.
So feel free to have a good laugh watching the Making of Documentary here: http://shootingpeople.org/watch/film.php?film_id=73675

To avoid coming over all Oscar-esque I will keep it quick. I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who watched and voted on my film and made it Film of the Month. I have been a SP member for 6 years and I have to say it is the most beneficial and well structured film community I have had the pleasure to be part of - it is certainly one of the subscriptions that I make sure I renew each year! So it's a real honour to win film of the month. Me being my pessimistic self thought it would never win in a million years so I was happy enough to be shortlisted!
The film was shot in 2005 back in my student days when life was easy and not too expensive. Hope it's a testament that anyone can make a half decent film if the story is right without much money or equipment - just a hard working passionate cast and crew!
Thank you to Martha for not just spending what must be very valuable time watching my film but also
