Larry Charles, writer on some of TV's greatest comedies. He's responsible for a lot of laughter, and this is your chance to have him critique your work.
Thank you so much Paul and Geoffrey. I wrote this for Graham, and believe me he is so little directed. He did most of the job himself by intuition. He was greatly embarrassed when the hardman Gordon melts and cries 'O Lulu!' having her heel on his face! But everyone laughs at this point so he had to accept it worked!
Enjoyed the film noir atmosphere of this, and it put me in mind of Broderick Crawford and Highway Patrol in the 1950s - a wonderful period for American crime/detective dramas. Oh that they could make them with such verve and passion now!
I chuckled through out. Loved the writing - it flowed well. It was clever how the narration became the spoken dialogue and good casting (it was made for the man). The sound/ music worked well (including the effects on the voice). B&W seems to have it's own flavour too. All the best for future works
A homage/parody to the American noir genre of the '40s and '50s with some of the stereotypes involved as the femme fatale, the uncorrupted cop, the gangsters etc. Grotesque and hyperbole plays an essential part. Graham Russell plays all three roles.
