About this film

This was another No-Budget film with the added complication of it being in Cantonese and having to be finished in a week. JuJu Chan met me in a bar and said we should do something together, which immediately got my attention. From that day to the last day of the shoot it was seven days. Another seven days to edit it to get it into a competition here in Hong Kong and we have a near instant movie. If I could do anything again, I'd reshoot the Lan Kwai Fong sequence away from a big TV screen that burst into very loud life during the shoot when it was way too complicated to move to another area... maybe, I hoped, the sound wouldn't be so bad. But it was.The story is simple. Recently in Hong Kong the media have been full of stories about wimpy Hong Kong boys - Dihn Che Naahm - and money obsessed Hong Kong girls - Gong Neui - and how the two of them really aren't getting it on together with the Gong Neui chasing foreigners and the Wimpoids devoting their time to Japanese porn. So the premise of the film was that a documentary maker sets up a date for a Dihn Che Naahm with a hot Gong Neui he's been cyber stalking. But then a murderous friend of the girl turns up and tags along on the date. It has just been short listed for the I Shot Hong Kong Film Festival.
