Synopsis: Michael, a twenty something daydreamer, hopes to avoid the responsibilities of life by joining a band. Returning home to collect his treasured guitar he finds the farm and the father who ripped his family apart in a desperate state. Eventually Michael realises that this might be one responsibility even he can't shirk. Dry Stone is essentially a story of reconciliation between father and son. If it does have underlying themes I suppose they're about how dreams and ambitions can often be thwarted by the practicalities of life. This film was made mainly as a learning experience, as I had never written, produced or directed before. The entire crew were all first timers too with no previous experience or formal training. The only people who'd done anything before were the actors. Made on a micro budget of no more than a few hundred pounds. I'll upload it soon, holding out that it might get shown at one or two festivals. Looking forward to hearing peoples opinions on this and where I can improve.
