Larry Charles, writer on some of TV's greatest comedies. He's responsible for a lot of laughter, and this is your chance to have him critique your work.
Thanks David. I'm glad to hear you liked it. Yes is was Super 8. I'm actually fairly familiar with your own work. I reckon Hanging with Frank is one of the best short documentaries I've seen in a long time.
Thanks Matt. I did the sound design myself, lots of fun, just sitting in my room with an old microphone and as many different objects and textures I could fine. I do understand about the running time and I'm inclined to agree. However, I think the reason why the film is as long as it is is because of how long it took to film. We shot for five 12 hour days and got about 4 mins of footage. I think the psychological strain of moving objects over small areas for 60 hours meant that when I came to edit I found it hard not to cut any footage out because of knowing the hell I'd both myself and my friends through. Maybe I'll do a directors cut one day...
interesting. Great sound design. A little long I think (perhaps going into the change in pace / visual style sooner might help here - there's nearly 3 mins of similar footage - perhaps more like 60-90 seconds would be better...). Like the way certain images stick out in the rapid montage near the end.
I'm very interested in what people have to say about Heads. It's not particuarly indicative of where my filmmaking interests lie, it's more an experiment based on some cut up monologues a friend of mine wrote. Also, for better or worse this is the first thing I've successfully completed so any feedback would be appreciated.
