    Thanks for watching and your comments Matt. I did give a lot of thought to that aspect, even laying awake at night thinking about it - isn't that sad! But in the end came down on the side of not having ambient sound in order to make the offscreen FX more 'visually' impactive. And - it's difficult here not to give a spoiler - other than to say irrelevant sounds disappear when you think you're in a spot. Like the sound of the radio evaporates when a maniac is swerving in front of you on the motorway! But I shall consider ambient sound, just to compare.

    nice idea. You might wanna try it with the original (or faked) ambeint sound too so we get the "real life" sounds as well as the offscreen FX?

About this film

Not having a Hollywood budget, nor possessing CGI technology, it made me think about how to use sound to create off-screen 'visual' effects that would otherwise need a lot of money to create and not possible on a minimal budget. It's interesting that thinking this way, really heightens your awareness of sound projecting images into your mind as well as the camera.
