RED: Basics For a Film Student

About this film

Cinema has seen itself informed by a digital age. Now of recent many major Hollywood titles are being shot on cameras with CMOS chips boosting to have master 4k RAW data capture. We believe that for us to be relevant in this age it becomes necessary to inform ourselves of the basics surrounding this technology. Myself and my partner Casey Jerson with careful guidance from our degree lecturers have decided to spend our final year understanding high-end digital camera technology. We used the RED One camera system because we found it more accessible to us.This group is dedicated to our Thesis: Practical Component.This Practical is a training video covering the basics of the red one camera system.This video is for film students only and any one enthusiastic about learning this camera system. We'll like to generate conversation on the topic here also within the following week. We are also currently preparing a survey over at surveymonkey.com and would like any constructive feedback on the training video.What's important to us is that there is basic content here within the video to give you a better understanding of the RED One camera system and to a larger extent cameras like itself.When we were students at a diploma level we found that information surrounding these types of cameras were only accessible online in a way that didn't inspire one to feel competent enough to take out the camera for a shoot.Myself and my partner Casey Jerson have paid for training, bought all the the books, DVDs and had key interviews with various practitioners in the industry.
