“The 19th Century culture was defined by the novel. The 20th Century culture was defined by the cinema. The culture of the 21st Century will be defined by the interface.”
I heard this quote in Aaron Koblin’s TED talk and it has made me think a lot about what storytelling on the interface can look like. One project that has really inspired me is Welcome to Pine Point, which came out of the ever innovative and creative NFB Interactive, who are also the team behind another project I love, Out My Window. I love how Pine Point uses the web to tell a new kind of story, or an old kind of story in a new way. It’s almost like a beautiful old photo album that comes alive on the web, soaked in nostaligia.
Here’s a trailer but you should really check out the full project online – remember it’s all about the interface!
