Shooting People is committed to supporting the productivity and skills base of film creatives to help ensure they remain competitive across the industry. The Film Course Directory is an open database of regularly updated film training courses across the UK and includes short courses, university and college courses, and part time as well as full time courses.

For Training Providers

Shooting People has 37,000 members and is proven to be highly effective in recruitment. In order to join The Film Course Directory as a training provider, you need to become an Organisational Member of Shooting People. In addition to a permanent entry in The Film Course Directory, Organisational Membership offers training providers the benefit of posting regular updates of their courses to the Shooting People daily email bulletins.

For Filmmakers

Searching The Film Course Directory will give you access to training providers across the UK in all areas of filmmaking, including camera, lighting, sound, directing, writing, animation, acting, producing and more. Listings are provided by training providers who are Organisational Members of Shooting People.


The Film Course Directory is available to everyone. Members of Shooting People have the additional benefit of regular updates on training and film courses through the Shooting People email bulletins. Members can also ask for course recommendations from other members as well as find jobs, debate technologies, get funding, find collaborators. If you would like to become a member of Shooting People, please join us here. Please note, a regular Shooting People membership is different to an Organisational Membership.
