One-on-one script consulting, now available online (and FREE)

How's your script coming along?

Finding myself with extra time on my hands – and with lots of friends and colleagues working on screenplays while suffering from Stuck Home Syndrome – I thought I would reboot my script consultancy (previously done live at Crouch End's Arthouse cinema) as an online “thing”, via FaceTime/Skype/Zoom or whatever. I’m offering my services for FREE to stop my brain atrophying, although if it gets crazy (so... much... reading...) I might have to start charging so GET IN.

Am I certified and bonded by the relevant official bodies? Of course not – there aren’t any! But I have some experience: I wrote the award-winning feature “Where the Road Runs Out” (a Netflix pickup), had a script optioned by Bryan Singer (back when that was a good thing) and have had Robert Downey Jr, Matthew McConaughey and Daniel Radcliffe attached to scripts I wrote. Last week, Canada’s Minds Eye Productions optioned the feature “Airborne” for low single figures, and my low-budget Welsh horror is in pre-pre-production with director Nev Pierce attached. (I’ve also adapted several books under commission – probably my biggest strength as a screenwriter – and done several uncredited rewrites of films you’ve seen.)

If you know anyone who might be interested in a one-on-one consultation, please pass on my Twitter handle, DavidHughesTwit and ask ‘em to DM me.

  • wait, did u say free? that's my favorite price. i looked you up - resume really impressed me. Plus u wrote books about Kube and Lynch! Is Twitter the best way to contact you?

  • Hi David. What an amazing and kind offer! I would very much welcome the opportunity to have someone of your calibre to talk to and honestly/professionally review my work. I currently have a pilot for a TV series based around generally unknown yet hugely significant British historical figure. I believe it would work as a three part mini-series (post watershed) or could easily be taken down a different path and become a longer young adult series (think "The Musketeers"). Hope that piques your interest! Thanks, Roy
