Producer Paid?

Shooters Hi,

Minor rant....

I'm not sure how other producers feel, but I get rather irritated by people advertising paid positions when they are clearly not. It's a turn off.

Advertising a paid position and then stating that it's dependent on the money raised is not a paid position. Better to put 'Fund raiser - X % fee paid on cash realised' or something like that.

There are many ways to raise finance, but trying to hoodwink people will simply result in zero interest.

If you have friends or family that work, there are ways to have them invest in your project at next to zero risk utilising their tax bill. Gather your potential investors then come to someone like me and say, 'I have 10 friends who want to put in between £1-10,000. Is there a way to increase this whilst minimising the risk to my friends/family/investors? If so, what's your fee'. If it looks promising, you'll get a much better response.

Finally, I'd appeal to SP moderators to either reject or correct these kind of postings.

If you do have investors and want to protect / mitigate their investment, get in touch. I have a lot experience in the use of SEIS/EIS. If you do not have investors yet, wait until you do.

Kind regards,
Ivan

  • I think it's more of a misunderstanding of the role - many people asking for a producer really are asking for money because they don't understand that a producer can optimise their money, but if they had a list of people ready to invest in one of their projects, they'd be making their own projects.

  • Yes. So either they have no money and want a fundraiser (UNPAID and not a producer) or the have money and need a producer for which they can pay for or someone like me who can hybrid and raise additional funds from current investors.
