February at SP
Meetups - get involved!
Recently, we’ve seen a ton of great meetups being set up by SP members in Ask&Discuss - from the Screenwriters Feedback Group in London Bridge to the Walthamstow/Leyton Filmmakers Get-Together to the Queer Filmmakers & Actors Network, there’s loads of great meetups to get involved with.
The Queer Filmmakers & Actors Network are already collaborating with venues to set up their events - including working with Garden Cinema on their LGBT+ film season to host a screening of Joyland, as well as a little networking shindig.
There’s a huge power in meeting up in-person (our own New Shoots: Actors winners cohort of 2022 even got together earlier this month ????) to find collaborators and get your ideas heard and seen - so if you’re interested in either starting your own, or finding one to join, make sure to head over to Ask&Discuss and use the MeetUps tag.
Ever used video editing software? Survey + Thankyou voucher.
If you’ve ever used video editing software, our friends at Evans Research are giving the first 300 SP subscribers a £15 Amazon certificate for taking a survey on video editing software. Plus, you’ll be entered into a draw for additional extra certificates on top (including 1x £500, 2x£150, 5x£75 and 25x£25).
The survey takes 12-15 minutes to complete and can be taken here.
You will receive your amazon certificate by March 26th when the surveys have been processed.
(All responses are confidential and just reported in aggregate form).
Please only fill the survey in, if you use video editing software! Thanks.
Documentary Lovers ????
Documentary short and feature film funds seem to be cropping up left, right and centre. And there’s more good news… the wonderful team at the Doc Society will be heading up the documentary National Lottery funding for another three years ???? This is fantastic news for indie documentary filmmakers in the UK. Keep your eyes peeled for more information on Doc Society’s upcoming opportunities on the funding directory.
