Shoot 'n' Edit will demystify the whole digital content creation process and set you out on the road as a 'preditor' (a cross between a producer and editor). This course provides the highest calibre, practical tuition and hands-on experience of Final Cut Pro and the Sony Z1 HDV camera: the two most in-demand pieces of shooting and editing kit around. You will Shoot, cut, voice-over, sound mix and finish a 2-minute sequence. It is ideal for those who have to provide content, produce and edit.

A basic computer knowledge helps.

The main premise behind this 5 day course is that if you know what you want you will have a much easier time getting it. As nearly all shoots will end up in the edit suite it is logical that if we understand the editing process, it will help with the shoot.

The emphasis of the course is on the storytelling aspects of the workflow avoiding technical jargon where possible and empowering you to start your next multi-skilling project with the confidence that only comes from practice.

We cannot teach you how to direct but we can certainly give you the tools of the trade.

All shooting exercises will be done in pairs using a Sony Z1 camera.

Pairs will swap roles to enable every student to cover every exercise.

All students will have their own dedicated Apple Mac workstation for the duration of the course and will spend the most of the time cutting their own footage.
