Background:-
"Puppeteer" was a film by first time writer/director Pauline Lam who successfully obtained public funding from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in the Hong Kong Freshwave Short Film Competition to make the film. Pauline then produced, directed and edited the film with the help of other passionate collaborators. It was screened as Official Selection in the Hong Kong Freshwave International Short Film Festival in 2011 as well as 9 other festivals across the globe. It also won a total of 8 awards including Best Short, Best Cinematography and Best First Time Director and a number of nominations including Best Music, Best Editor and Best Director.

Synopsis:-
A lonely young man disconnected from those surrounding him seeks to escape his bleak reality into the worlds of telekinesis and puppetry. Initially innocent experiments soon turn sinister. When his grip on reality is loosened, his self-conjured counterworld invades with devastating consequences.
