Sprite
From Andrew GriffinAbout the film:
A dark tale of a young girl who's enjoyment of her forest is shattered by the arrival of a killer.
This is the second short film I've written and directed, although it wouldn't have come about at all if the Producer, Sian, hadn't asked all those difficult questions of the original and admittedly very simple script. We had some technical issues along the way, from defunct batteries to a healthily breathing dead body, from changing weather to the inevitable lack of time. we pulled through.
Shot on a Canon 5D MkII with Samyang lenses, on location in Salcey Forest, and edited through Premiere Pro.
The story came about after a short test with my son (who was supposed to be in the final film!) playing with settings on the Canon. Seeing a discarded Sprite can in the local woods, it occurred to me that it was a complete irony that litter could carry the same name as that of a guardian of the forest. The shot of the Sprite can was discarded. ;-)
