This is a short documentary I edited for the company Spectacle Productions. Working with footage shot by trainees from the local community I took the film from the rushes to the final cut as the editor, working with the director of the project.
This editing involved working with footage from four cameras as well as archive footage and stills. As one of the main objectives of Spectacle is community-based journalism the main footage was filmed by trainees and, although on the whole it was of a high standard, there were a number of problems which I successfully resolved during post-production. Working with this footage taught me many problem-solving techniques and greatly improved my ability as an editor.
