Not all girls can become a goddess
From Carles TamayoAbout the film:
Some months ago I met a Kumari, a person who is considered a living goddess in Kathmandú (Nepal) by Newar People.
A Kumari is the reincarnation of the goddess Taleju until the girl begins to menstruate, after which this goddess is disembodied from her body.
I met three Kumaris: Nihira Bajracharya (a 5yo girl, currently kumari) Dhana Bajracharya (the life-long kumari, she's 65yo and she's still a Kumari becouse she never menstruated) & Chanira Bajracharya (a 23yo ex kumari & the Storyteller of the documentary).
