From Nicolas LaborieAbout the film:
We judge all the time, painting a canvas of assumption but are we ready to grow up and see our prejudices?"RENAISSANCE OF BIAS" is a video art, short film that draws out bigotry and racial stereotypes in a poetic way. The film is set in an artist`s studio. The story begins when several people of different cultures and nationalities pose, and are being drawn for a painting a loose take on the Raft of the Medusa by the French painter Thodore Gricault. NICOLAS LABORIE - ALL RIGHTS RESERVEDDuring the session, tension between them arises after one of them is seen to be bullying the group. But is he the only one at fault? Using diptychs we explore how division determines the viewers perception of an image from the artists point of view we understand that he sees the scene as a relationship of forms for a painting he is planning to do but also we see a world tainted by prejudices and assumptions.
