Jaws, any of the James Bonds (especially Live & Let Die)

I cried watching

Titanic (though I lied to the wife about it!), Benji the Hunted (I was eight at the time).

I left the cinema during

Swingers - only film I've ever walked out on. Terrible. Though I did fall asleep during the middle hour of Meet Joe Black - I asked the wife what I'd missed and she said 'Absolutely nothing!' Dreadful film.

Actors I admire

Naomi Watts, Sirs Michael Caine, Sean Connery and Roger Moore, Nicole Kidman, Pierce Brosnan

My desert island discs

'No More Lonely Nights' by Sir Paul McCartney, 'Imagine' by Lennon

I always recommend Tom Sharpe's 'Wilt' to everyone

My death row meal

Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, or sirloin steak

The best thing I own

My house (in a beauty spot in Chester). Plus it contains my DVD player and DVD collection

More about me

I am a major film buff and want to get into the movies (low to medium budget stuff, set in the UK), to bring the stories buzzing around my head to life. After my debut novel was published in Xmas '04, I set about writing the second of what I hope is a long series of novels with the same detective. He's a cross between Inspector Morse and Jack Regan of the Sweeney - brainy, but prone to violence. It's a fun thriller with comedy and romance thrown into the mix, and I think it'd make a brilliant film. But naturally I'm biased! Writing the novel itself was a long-held dream of mine (it took 15 years from the conception to the publication!), but I hope shows the determined side of my nature. And bringing my detective to the big screen would be another dream come true. I have many other ideas for both short films and feature length ones - some with the detective, others in the horror or action field which, with the smallest of budgets, I feel could be brought properly and professionally to the big screen where they would find an appreciative audience. All I need is for some like-minded people to get in touch and we should be able to help each other. After all, I have so many ideas for films and shorts at the moment, I couldn't tackle them all myself, so I'd be glad to be a full contributor to anyone who wants to work together for our mutual benefit. In time, I know I'm going to have to leave my job and plunge into the business properly by setting up a small production company, but first I need experience, help, advice and the friendship and support of talented people in my area or further afield. If you're based outside the North West, and still want to get in touch, don't let geography stop you! Just give me a call or drop me an e-mail today!
