When you sign up as a new member on a yearly plan, we tell you that we'll take one annual payment immediately and a follow up payment of each subsequent year.
Exactly two weeks before your membership runs out, we'll send you an email to let you know that we'll be renewing your membership in two weeks time - unless you log on and cancel your account. After we take payment we then send a tax receipt by email.
Unfortunately some members do miss these notices and suddenly realise that a payment has gone through without prior warning. That's okay - these things happen and as long as you contact us within a month of the payment going through - we can delete your membership at that point and arrange a refund.

Submissions are open to shorts up to 30 minutes in length. We accept films of any style, genre or format, films of all countries*, production techniques, forms and budgets.
The primary contact completing the submission process must be authorised to submit the film for consideration. This includes permission from a distributor or sales agent representing the film and the applicant must have obtained necessary permissions for the inclusion of any copyrighted music and/or images used within the film. Shooting People WILL NOT hold responsibility for any copyright infringement.
Submitted films can be password protected or public. All films will be viewable for members only, unless the filmmaker states that they do not want their film viewable by the SP community.
You may enter one film per season. Each entry requires a separate submission form and separate upload.
*Entrants should be aware that many of the prizes, particularly the mentoring opportunities and UK cinema memberships, will only be available to entrants based in the UK.
The New Shoots Filmmakers Awards are open annually.
12 films will be shortlisted, 3 of which will be selected as runners-up. The selections will be announced after September 2023, exact date TBC.
These 3 shortlisted films will be sent to a filmmaking patron who will select the overall winning film.
Due to the expected high volume of applications, we regret that we are unable to offer feedback on films submitted to NEW SHOOTS.
Should your film be selected, you give us permission to use images from the film in our promotional material. Should the opportunity arise, Shooting People would like to screen the winning film at an event. However, it is not a requirement that the film should be available to screen, for example, if it is still on the festival circuit.
Submitting a film gives us permission to use the provided publicity stills and film excerpts in NEW SHOOTS marketing and publicity

Entry gives us permission to promote you (your Shooting People actor profile and your headshot) across all Shooting People marketing and publicity ongoingly.
