Tin Luck was 80% cast by the community at Maiden Lane, our location. The script was also developed by chatting to local residents about the present and past of Maiden Lane. At the heart of all this was Maiden Lane Community Centre, who took a lead role in supporting the film’s outreach and production.
This is the story of a local community – complete with all its sorrows and joys, contradictions and clarity – told in one unbroken nine-minute shot, on technocrane, on 35mm film. Exploring themes of contemporary masculinity it follows its hero, Tray, as he moves through the estate and the lives of its residents.
