Small notice about a SP filmmaker’s film, one that’s had considerable festival success, and now has a limited cinema run. Support SP filmmakers!

Panic is Shooter’s own Oliver Gray produced neo-noir, London set thriller, about a man’s journey into the triad underworld in his search for his kidnapped neighbour. Starring the up and coming David Gyasi (Interstellar, Cloud Atlas, The Dark Knight Rises) in the lead role, and support from renowned theatre actress Pippa Nixon and Yennis Cheung (Skyfall, Shanghai), the film premiered at the 2014 Raindance Film Festival where it was nominated for the best UK feature award, and has had a positive critical reception, described by Flickering Myth as a ‘triumph’ and praising Gyasi’s perfomance as ‘stunning’. With undertones of Rear Window and hints at perhaps some Oldboy style hammer action, Sean Spencer’s directorial debut looks to be dark and intriguing, and certainly not one to be missed.

Panic previews in Birmingham on Nov 10th, and there are Q&A screenings from Nov 18th in London and Birmingham cinemas, before it’s release on selected VOD platforms on Nov 21st. Details of those screenings can be found here.
