2022 was a great year for us at SP, we launched our revamped New Shoots: Actors scheme, now with mentorship from the one and only Des Hamilton Casting. New Shoots: Filmmakers persisted on, with a hugely diverse range of high-quality submissions... Script Pitch saw tons of amazing scripts too. So congrats to all the winners, all of the shortlisted creatives and EVERYONE who submitted. We ???? you.

On top of that, we welcomed some amazing speakers in for our New Shoots events - including Will Sharpe (THE ELECTRICAL LIFE OF LOUIS WAIN, LANDSCAPERS, FLOWERS) and Suzie Davies (THE ELECTRICAL LIFE OF LOUIS WAIN, MR TURNER, PETERLOO) for "From Indie to Hollywood", Annika Summerson (CENSOR, MOGUL MOWGLI) and Tom Townend (YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE, ATTACK THE BLOCK, WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN) for our "Visual Storytelling Masterclass" and lastly, Shaunak Sen (ALL THAT BREATHES) and Teddy Leifer (ALL THE BREATHES, ICARUS, THE INVISBLE WAR) for "How To Make an Award-Winning Documentary".

There's been over 60 new funds listed in the Funding Database, and over 4000 jobs posted into our Cast & Crew board - and you've all hosted some hilarious, informative discussions into Ask&Discuss. We're continuously humbled by seeing all the amazing work you've all created in 2022 - so we've cut up a little video summarising what we're looking forward to in 2023. ????

Our Start the year networking party is just round the corner now - and it's all sold out. The waiting list is still open in case we have any people dip out last minute so if you're eagerly waiting, jump on the waitlist and all hope might not be lost ????.

Our lovely partners over at Nikon teamed up with SP member Rebecca Culverhouse to document her process of filming her short on synesthesia using the Nikon Z 6 II Movie Kit. It's well worth the watch not just for the sheer talent she shows behind the camera, but for her impressive creative process and innovative view on what she's hoping her film to become????
