Biography:

Daniel Booroff is an award-winning actor and filmmaker with ASD living in Brighton & Hove. He is often sought out for his character acting method and comedy specialisms; and his melodramatic, comedic, and absurdist auteur filmmaking style.

He graduated as an actor from The Poor School (London) in 2015 and has had several successes across TV, film, and stage since. He has starred opposite, worked with, and has learnt from such greats as: Steve Buscemi, Patrick Stewart, Jeffrey Tambour, Mike Myers, Jennifer Saunders, Ken Jeong, Lee Mack, Sally Bretton, David Morrissey, Steve Pemberton, Paul Chahidi, Saoirse Ronan, Simon Russell Beale, David Tennant and Andrea Riseborough and more... These opportunities were gained by appearing large high-end screen productions for media giants, such as: Netflix, Gaumont, BBC, Sky, Focus, and TNT. Through these endeavours he has been awarded best actor by Terror Film Festival and Southern Shorts award, as well as being praised for his performances as listed: "Did a better job [then Pacino] of portraying my temperament and nature" - Frank Serpico "Excellent" - Paul Taylor (The Independent) "Good Work" - Michael Billington, (The Guardian) "Played engagingly" - Anne Treneman (The Times) "Valuable contribution" - Mark Shenton (The Stage) "Utterly convincing" - Gary Naylor (Broadway World) "Lovely performance" - Sarah Hemming (Financial Times) "Comedy Genius" - Essential Suffolk

He graduated as a writer/director from The Film & Screen School (Brighton) in 2023 and is continuing his studies into a MA level. He has had successes across different film formats and has won several awards, as well as screening at several high-end cinemas. His commercial ventures include working with both profit and non-profit companies, such as: Viv Loves Film, Screen & Film School, Nowness, BIMM institute, MPB, IC Theatre, Lewes Council, MVM, NHS, Alumno, and NRAS. He has been lucky enough to have worked with and been mentored by Ben Cole (Made In Dagenham), Emma Topping (Peter Rabbit), and Max Conil (Price Of Love). As well as his commercial success, he has also achieved awards in his own short film projects with his first film 'Undercurrent' winning an award at Brighton Rocks Film Festival; and his second 'Gandad' winning at Sussex International Film Festival (but still on a festival run). All these films having been screened at Duke Of York's, Lewes Depot, and Hailsham cinemas. He is currently working on his third short "High Strangeness", which follows a homeless schizophrenic as he navigates through horrific and mysterious 'hallucinations' on his way to a job interview. This will be his final short before he embarks on his first feature.
