In my mid-to-late 20s, I embraced the mockumentary format to create 'Jesus & Squad.' This journey allowed me to blend my passion for comedy with my academic growth at Ravensbourne. After producing a pilot episode with a friend, the positive feedback inspired us to develop a full series. By incorporating real-life experiences and casting friends as actors, I discovered joy in applying my mockumentary skills, keeping my creativity alive and my comedy writing vibrant.
Though ‘Jesus & Squad’ was made on practically zero budget, the satisfaction of making people laugh fueled my dedication to the project. Positive recognition from film festivals would mean the world to me, as it reflects the time and effort invested. Such acknowledgement would invigorate my commitment to continue writing and directing future projects—driven by the dream of bigger budgets and even greater creative ventures!
