David Lowery's 'A Ghost Story' had me in absolute bits.

Titanic is my go-to-choice when I feel I need a good old cry!

Van Helsing. I don't know why I hated it at the time. Hugh Jackman is usually enough to keep me in my seat.

Carol Morley, Ken Loach, Mike Leigh, Mark Jenkin, Haneke, Jim Cummings, Lynn Ramsey, Andrea Arnold.

Actors from working-class backgrounds that smash their way through despite all the nepotism, class-prejudice and crushing financial obstacles we are faced with. Any of the 12% of actors from working-class backgrounds that are working in film, TV and theatre gets my admiration.

Paul Laverty's scripts are layered, complex, carefully researched and rightfully angry. His scripts and Loach's direction have influenced social reform which is why I respect him so much.
I also love Andrea Arnold's writing style. And I read a brilliant interview with Lynn Ramsey recently who said writing was like vomiting and picking the best bits out. I liked that and I really respect her for using such an visceral simile!

Ooooooooh too many! Fav book will also be Harry Potter series and To Kill a Mockingbird. I loved 'The Book Thief' and 'The Kite Runner'.

Fav odd ball choice that people don't expect from me (for whatever reason!) is Simon Singh's Fermat's Last Theorem. An utterly fascinating book about the search for the proof of one of the greatest math's mysteries in history. Read it!
