Fun stuff:

Films I wish I had made:

The Princess Bride; Star Wars original trilogy; first Pirates of the Caribbean film; Batman Returns; The Incredibles; Toy Story; Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

I cried watching:

More TV than films - an episode of the old kids' show Press Gang, the season finale of Numb3rs, probably a few others.

I left the cinema during:

It's a Wonderful Life (except I saw it on TV) - possibly the world's most over-rated film. Damn near left during Signs. Minority Report (to go to the loo - came back and realised I'd missed the essential exposition...)

Directors I love:

Kathryn Bigelow, Charlie Kaufman, Brad Bird, Tim Burton.

Actors I admire:

Tatiana Maslany, Claudia Black, Matt Smith, Jodi Foster, Judi Dench, Angelina Jolie, Denzel Washington, Adrian Lester, Pete Capaldi, probably a lot of others but I can never remember names when confronted with questions like this....

Writers I Respect:

Ursula Le Guin, Mary Gentle, Neil Gaiman, Joe Haldeman, Brad Bird, Charlie Kaufman, Toby Whithouse, Steven Moffat, Peter Moffet.

My desert island discs:

Anthology - Tom Petty (or pretty much anything by him); Grace - Jeff Buckley; any KT Tunstall album; anything by Crowded House/Neil Finn; early and middle period Dylan; early Arlo Guthrie; almost anything by Sting (I know, I know...)

Books I have given my friends:

Codename: Verity by Liz Wein; Kindred by Octavia Butler; The Prestige by Chris Priest; Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Halo Jones and Miracleman, all by Alan Moore; Story of Tracy Beaker by Jacqueline Wilson.

My death row meal:

Sushi followed by chocolate ice cream.

The best thing I own:

I hate to be snotty about this, but the best things I own aren't things and I don't own them - they're my friends and loved ones; and, I guess, my skill and talent.
