We're Hunting Treasures (2013)

I have just released my new short film We’re Hunting Treasures - A treasure hunt in the skies of London.
Using a blend of live-action and cgi animation, colourful animated characters inhabit unusual places, transforming these settings into scenes from a daydream. The flip side of the story is a reminder that what we are searching for doesn’t always turn out to be exactly as we had hoped. This is reflected in the repeated change of register in the music, composed by Oliver Davies (at We Write Music).
The inspiration for the film came to me whilst wandering along the South Bank (amazingly you can walk from East to West traversing the whole city of London). Where now stand shiny new office buildings, there were once bustling Victorian businesses like Billingsgate Market. Interestingly it was, in its day, the world’s largest fish market. It is this fascinating co-existence of old and new in London that gave me the idea for the film.
