Joyce also happens to be my Grandmother, which is why I'm aware of her rather wild ways and I wanted to share her with the rest of the world. So often older women aren't given a voice on our screens, or they're shown to be quiet passive individuals. I love that this film presents a feisty, engaged and intellectual older woman who is politically active and doesn't conform to society's stereotypes.
Fun stuff:
Waste Land, Undefeated, Rust and Bone, Vicky Christina Barcelona, Lost in Translation, Cabaret, The Reader
Oh, loads of films! Most odd one probably Vanilla Sky.
I've never left the cinema during a film... to my shame, I have fallen asleep though!
Jacques Audiard, Andrea Arnold, Lynne Ramsay, Werner Herzog, Michael Moore, Kim Longinotto, Stanley Kubrick, Danny Boyle, Michael Winterbottom,
Steppenwolf, Alone in Berlin, Mother Night, Slaughterhouse Five,Lean In, How To Be A Women, When God Was A Rabbit

A playing card with my initials on which was used in a trick by the world's foremost close-up magician on a rather surreal night at the Magic Castle in LA.
