The loneliness of the long-distance writer

Hi guys,

I was just wondering how you fellow screenwriters coped with the long periods of isolation when writing. I took the step of giving up my 9 to 5 job a few years ago in order to concentrate on writing and as a consequence I hardly see anyone in the day apart from the dog! I was just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation.

Sam

  • Yep :) Social media is good - especially Twitter because it's easy to find like-minded people. I've made some good and useful friends/contacts there - let's face it, you're unlikely to come across a fellow writer in the pub. Other than that it's mainly my wife, the neighbours, the window cleaner and the postman!

    • Ha! Good to hear that I'm not the only one Nick! And yes, Twitter does help. Maybe we should set up a Skype community for writers :-)
