Four Corners, feminism and British independent film culture
Four Corners, feminism and British independent film culture
Four Corners are screening two films exploring feminist and independent film culture in 1970s/80s Britain on Wednesday 16 July, 6:30–8:30pm at their Roman Road gallery. They’ll be showing Often During the Day (1978) and extracts from Seeing for Ourselves (1983), followed by a Q&A with filmmakers and scholars Margaret Dickinson and Mandy Rose. Expect discussion on Four Corners’ early work, feminist distribution collectives like Circles and Cinema of Women, and the wider independent film scene. Part of their 50th anniversary exhibition Work in the Margins, with drinks after.
