Short Com Comedy Connect


Short Com Film and Animation Festival are proud to present their industry and networking day Comedy Connect. Designed to give invaluable advice for comedy writers, directors, producers and performers looking to break into the industry. As well as a platform for skilled creatives to meet one another.

We have a lineup of some industry professionals. (Please note. Line up and guest speakers can be subject to change)

Coffee Connect - Meet and greet fellow attendees with some refreshments (included in the ticket price)
Commissioners Secrets - We have a former comedy channel heads from Comedy Central and Sky Comedy who will give key insight into the commissioning process of what and why got greenlit.

Script Secrets - Highly regarded and experienced writer and script editor Andrew Ellard (The IT Crowd, Red Dward, The Detectorists) will be answering your questions on scriptwriting.

Director Masterclass - TBA - We interview a director with industry credits and discuss their experiences on their work to date and how they got there.

Pathways - Short or Online? We look at the different ways you can make a name for yourself by the film festivall route or growing an audiences online. With BAFTA and BIFA writer and director Hannah Kelso, online sensation Mark Dallas whose online videos have ammassed over millions of views on social media platforms. And how development execs find and nurture talent for developing features. With Alice Whitmore from Film 4.

Network Drinks - Concluding drinks to catch up and discuss the days events before screenings.
