Want to enter a short film pitch competition in which there is a genuine chance of securing a commission to write, direct, or write and direct a film with a £30k production budget?

The Script Factory has been involved with The Pitch Film Fund for the past ten years and we firmly believe it’s one of the best programmes available for emerging filmmakers in the UK. And that not enough people know about it! (the upside of which, you aren’t competing against thousands of entrants)

What’s more, you can enter for free, and, unlike many other scheme you can also enter as a screenwriter without a director attached.

The Pitch is an annual adaptation challenge which funds both a Comedy Short and a Drama Short each year.

To enter you will need to conjure up a pitch for a short film based on a Bible story or verse. Before you panic that you’ve never read any of the Bible, rest assured that this isn’t a brief to make a faith-based film. It’s an opportunity to engage with one of humanity’s oldest and most enduring cultural artefacts and explore how the stories within that text might resonate with our lived experience today.

The Script Factory is hosting an online Introduction To The Pitch Film Fund on Monday 17th June at 6.30pm. We’ll talk to writer/director Luke Bradford, whose 2021 Pitch film ‘White Gold’, went on to be Oscar long-listed and Luke Walton, founder of The Pitch Film Fund will present the programme and be available to answer all your questions.

To get a flavour of the programme, check out details of the competition and previous finalists at enterthepitch.com. And sign up for The Script Factory’s intro session at https://www.scriptfactory.co.uk/courses/intro-to-the-pitch
