The Unseen Struggle: Mental Health in Film

Join us for an evening of film, conversation, and community, exploring the vital but often overlooked connection between mental health and storytelling.

We’ll screen the pilot of Spar, directed by Anthony Vander, alongside three thought-provoking short films, Holding The Line (Dir: Dorivaldo Ernesto & Alicia Fernandes), Waiting (Dir: Aleksandra Bucevak) and Where Have All The Boys Gone? (Dir: Chloë Housam) .

Each project sheds light on themes of emotional wellbeing, identity, and resilience—both on and off the screen.

After the screenings, stay for an open Q&A with the filmmakers and creatives, where we’ll unpack the challenges of navigating the industry, share personal experiences, and discuss how we can build healthier, more supportive creative spaces.

Whether you’re a filmmaker, actor, or simply passionate about mental health and the power of story, this event offers space to reflect, connect, and be inspired.

A portion of the proceeds will go to a charity of the filmmakers’ choosing.
