In the remote region of Zanskar, inhabitants face a poignant dilemma: how to balance modernisation with preservation. Following glacier conservationist, Lobzang Wangtak, time is not on the Zanskari's side as the developed world unleashes merciless consequences upon their fragile, ancient lands, in the form of disappearing glaciers. Faced with the stark reality of up to 75% glacier melt before the turn of the century, the Zanskari turn towards the legendary Naga spirits for salvation. The question is: ‘will the intervention of mystical forces be sufficient to halt the impending catastrophe, or does this signal the dawn of yet another tragic cultural and ecological extinction?
