And, the Penny Drops

From LAYLA ZAKARIA

About the film:

Mia, has the Midas touch. But, instead of gold everything turns to dust.
Her plans never come to fruition and when messages in her name surface on social media that she didn’t write, nothing adds up. It’s almost as if someone is conspiring against her. Turning detective, she battles through a fog of turmoil to get to the bottom of this lifelong mystery.

A great piece of story telling and a really solid performance. I think for a talking to camera style film perhaps it needed more visual variation to justify the running time - it felt more like a piece of spoken work / theatre put on film, than a film in and of itself. I've done a few monologue/poems on film myself with varying degrees of success... I'd love to have seen more of what is being described on the screen. But good job.

I agree about the running time. For a novice I've learnt a great deal from the experience - it was a sudden, strong desire to get my voice heard ... immediately, with no budget! I couldn't have asked for more from the people that came on board :) Thanks for your comment, Matt.
