Academic and community dance artist Dr. Adesola Akinleye travels to Belfast, Enniskillen and the Irish border to work with local people to on a dance project themed around borders and boundaries.
Filmed shortly after the Brexit referendum result in a time when there were discussions about a return to border controls and violence in Northern Ireland, this film follow’s Adesola’s journey in examining how policy-making decisions being made verbally or in writing, can negate ‘the body’ - and how this can be redressed.
Filmed before the Covid-19 pandemic, referencing a medical model used for ‘treating’ epidemics of violence, Adesola works with local dance artists and members of the community to explore what starting with the body, rather than mind, can open up.
