Broken Bird
From Sheherazade BodinAbout the film:
“Broken Bird” sheds light on the difficulties of dating as a mature person with a disability, particularly in the Queer scene.
WHY THIS SUBJECT?
After hearing stories from several women and queer people dating in their later years, director Sheherazade Bodin wanted to bring humour and sensitivity to their combined tales and show audiences exactly how tough it can be out there!
“I also wanted to show how okay it is to be on your own. Not everyone dreams of being in a relationship, and it should really be a beautiful bonus added to their life, not a necessity to be able to reach happiness.”
Being older, being disabled, being queer - all of these things don’t stop you from dating, but they can, for some, make it harder. “Broken Bird” hopes to bring light and shade to this tale of romance - or not!
