City of Peace is a classic fairytale with the universal theme of good versus evil. Inspired by Kurdish folk stories, as well as the traditions of Commedia dellArte and pantomime. City of Peace has 18 characters played by eight Kurdish actors, as well as seven Kurdish musicians performing live. In a delightful blend of fantasy and reality these characters are human and animal, as well as with supernatural creatures and a twenty-first century robot monster too. Original masks, beautiful costumes, a magical set and special effects create the scene for the songs and story to develop. The performances will be in Kurdish, but as this is a strikingly visual production with many songs and dances, we hope it will appeal to a wider audience, so that all can enjoy the magic world of City of Peace.
