Chrissy Rouse is a part time maths teacher, a podcast host and a successful bike racer. For 2020 he was competing in the National Superstock 1000 championship in the UK, part of the prestigious British Superbikes paddock, known globally for its breadth of talent.
The 2020 season was unique for both him and the championship as a whole, as the sport navigated its way around the pandemic. For Chrissy personally it threw up some serious challenges, involving recovery from injury and the loss of major sponsors and ultimately his team, with just weeks before the start of the season. In order to compete, he had to pull together a new team at the last minute. This film is the story of how a tiny team of volunteers battled against massive established teams with factory support and huge budgets to take the title. It offers a glimpse into the sacrifices that racers and their families make over their lifetimes to compete at a high level.
