Belmaya, at 21, has given up on finding happiness. An uneducated Dalit in Nepal, trapped in an abusive marriage, she yearns for independence. Rewind to 2006 when, as a rebellious teenager living in a girls’ home, she learnt photography and wielded her camera like a weapon - until the home locked it away. Now she gets a second chance, this time to train in documentary filmmaking. Belmaya embarks on a personal film, Educate Our Daughters. But is her resentful husband ready for this?
