Patriotism Is Not Enough is a new play I am working on about the life and death of Nursing Pioneer and WWI heroine Edith Cavell (1865-1915), and how her story can help people today, with the UK being divided over Brexit.
Split between 1914-15 and 2018-19, Patriotism Is Not Enough is designed to be a historical drama, but told at a very relevant time.
Currently, a short version of the play was a finalist in the 2019 Write Here, Write Now Competition, and it was performed at Hertford Theatre in February 2019. A full-length script should be finished by the end of the year, when I will start looking at opportunities to tour it around Norfolk, where Edith Cavell was born.
